PERANCANGAN MADRASAH ALIYAH AL-KHAIRAT KOTA GORONTALO DENGAN PENDEKATAN ARSITEKTUR ISLAM

This study aims to design the Al-Khairat Madrasah Aliyah in Gorontalo City to optimize its function as an Islamic educational facility through an Islamic architectural approach. Educational institutions play a vital role in shaping the younger generation to contribute to the nation’s progress; therefore, improving the quality of education must be supported by adequate facilities. Madrasah Aliyah is a formal secondary education level equivalent to high school, administered by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The method used is an architectural design approach with an emphasis on the principles of Islamic architecture. The design site is located at Jalan Sultan Botutihe No. 26, Dembe II, Gorontalo City, on a plot of land measuring approximately 25,227 m², chosen for its strategic location, ease of access, and access to municipal utilities. The design outcome consists of a Madrasah Aliyah building along with its main and supporting facilities, incorporating elements of Islamic architecture on the facade through geometric patterns, arabesque motifs, and horseshoe arches that reflect beauty, order, and spiritual values.
