PERANCANGAN PUSAT KECANTIKAN DAN KEBUGARAN DENGAN PENDEKATAN ARSITEKTUR FEMINISME DI KOTA GORONTALO

Abstract

This study aims to design a Beauty and Wellness Center in Gorontalo City as a body care facility that integrates aspects of health, appearance, relaxation, and fitness. The increasing demands of modern lifestyles have driven the need for comfortable and integrated care spaces. The number of women of reproductive age in Gorontalo City, which reached 72,142 in 2023, indicates the potential for this need. However, the available salon, spa, beauty clinic, and fitness services are generally still separate and do not yet fully address women’s comfort and privacy. This study employs qualitative methods through observation, literature review, and statistical data. The design results apply a feminist architectural approach that emphasizes gender equality, diversity of experience, comfort, safety, and the well-being of users. The design produces a concept for an integrated, inclusive, representative, humanistic, and women-friendly beauty and fitness center.
