PENATAAN KAWASAN KAMPUNG NELAYAN TOLUTU DENGAN PENDEKATAN ARSITEKTUR BAHARI

Abstract

This study aims to design and implement a maritime architectural approach in the planning of the fishing village area in Tolutu Village, Tomini Subdistrict, South Bolaang Mongondow Regency, North Sulawesi. The maritime architectural approach focuses on the planning of coastal settlements that integrate aesthetic aspects, functionality, environmental sustainability, and the cultural values and traditions of coastal communities. The study employs a descriptive qualitative method through the collection of primary data including field surveys and interviews as well as secondary data from a literature review. The analysis resulted in a zoning concept and area design that encompasses fishermen’s housing, open spaces, fish processing and sales facilities (TPI), boat moorings, and gathering spaces for fishermen. The design concept focuses on the ecological planning of the fishing village and improving the community’s standard of living through the harmonization of the three pillars of sustainability: social, economic, and environmental. Construction utilizes local materials for cost efficiency, featuring a column-and-beam structure, wooden truss roofs in saddle and limasan styles, and foundations adapted to the characteristics of coastal soil.
