ANALISIS PENGGUNAAN ALAT PELINDUNG DIRI (APD) PADA PROYEK PERUMAHAN DI KABUPATEN GORONTALO

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is a critical aspect of the construction industry due to the high risk of workplace accidents. The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a key measure in preventing accidents and protecting workers. This study aims to analyze the level of PPE usage and identify the factors influencing compliance with its use at the Graha Alam Sutra Housing Development project in Gorontalo Regency. The research was conducted at three project sites using a quantitative descriptive method. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires administered to 60 construction workers, and were subsequently analyzed using the Relative Importance Index (RII). The results indicate that the level of PPE usage at all three project sites falls into the “good” category. The most influential factors include workers’ knowledge, the availability and quality of PPE, compliance levels, supervision and sanctions, as well as barriers to PPE usage. The main barriers identified were a lack of OSH awareness and discomfort when wearing PPE. Therefore, ongoing OSH training, consistent supervision, and the provision of comfortable, standard-compliant PPE are necessary.
