Abstract

This study aims to formulate a draft computational algorithm based on generative design to reduce the Uniformity Ratio (Uo) of natural lighting in lecture halls. The method used is quantitative, employing an experimental approach based on computational simulation and parametric optimization using the software Rhinoceros, Grasshopper, Honeybee-Radiance, and DIALux Evo. The results show that out of 48,905 unique combinations resulting from Cartesian multiplication, one optimal configuration was able to reduce the Uo value from 10,41:1 to 9,51:1, increase the average Daylight Factor (DFavg) to 1,35%, and improve the lighting comfort level by 37,8%. In conclusion, the parametric approach proved effective in identifying the most optimal opening geometry configuration to improve light distribution quality. This study suggests using this computational logic as a basis for the future development of a Daylight-Opening Generative Engine. The implications of this research provide a practical passive solution for enhancing pure visual comfort through the automatic permutation engineering of single-opening coordinates.
